ABSTRACTS

All abstracts must be submitted through the online procedure by 31 May 2017.
Authors must consider the Word template and follow carefully the instructions contained therein. The template includes two pages: in the first page Authors must include the Italian version of their abstract whereas the English version must be included in the second page. Only one file with two pages must be uploaded.

 

Important

  1. The file must be named as: surname_nameinitials_N.doc. Surname and nameinitials refer to the first author. N corresponds to the abstract number and must range from 1 to the number of abstracts submitted for a same first author.
  2. Only RTF or MS Word files will be accepted.
  3. Substantial changes in the template format (e.g., margins, font size, etc.) will result in the exclusion of the abstract.

 

SUBMISSION OF THE ABSTRACTS

Abstracts must be submitted through the link below "Submit your Abstract".  During submission, Authors will be required to:
  • enter details of all Authors (affiliation, contact information, etc.);
  • indicate the presenting author;
  • select their preference for oral or poster presentation;
  • specify either the Clinical or Methodological category for their abstract and whether it should be considered for the SIAMOC best paper award;
  • upload the effettuare l’upload dell’abstract (italian and english version in one single file);
IMPORTANT: contrary to what indicated in the submission form, Title, Authors and affiliations must be included in the abstract according to the template.
Once the abstract is submitted, a notification confirming the submission was successful will be sent to Authors.  This notification should be kept as a confirmation of successful submission, as it may be needed in future correspondences.
All accepted papers will be made available to participants during the Congress.  Authors are responsible for the content and quality of the abstract.  No editing revision will be made by the Scientific Committee.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Authors comply with the following terms when submitting their abstracts:
  • The abstract was approved by all Authors;
  • Copyright ownership of abstracts is transferred to the Congress;
  • Presentation of accepted abstracts will be prepared in accordance with the "Submission guidelines”;
At least one author will be available to present the accepted abstract. Authors must inform the Organising Secretariat as earliest as possible in case they are unable to present their absctract or if the presenting author should be replaced by any coauthor

THE REVIEW PROCESS

All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by at least two members of the Scientific Committee. Clinical and Methodological abstracts will be reviewed by both clinicians and engineers.  At least two clinicians will evaluate Clinical abstracts and at least two engineers will assess Methodological abstracts. Reviewers will rate abstract based on four criteria: Relevance, Methodology, Presentation of Results, Impact.  Abstracts will then be ranked according to their mean score.  Abstracts' rating will be considered in defining the modality of presentation and will define the eligibility for publication in the Journal Gait & Posture.
Care in the preparation of the English version of abstracts is strongly encouraged. Abstracts eligible for publication in the Journal Gait and Posture will be subjected to further review to ensure the English language is of sufficient quality to be understood.
Authors will be notified of acceptance by 30 June 2017.
